This series took its name from a slogan printed on the back of the child's jacket in the central piece. The exhibition's theme was economic creativity, and this motto seemed to exemplify a certain sentiment. All appropriated imagery came from a picture book titled Our Country. The past serves as a useful tool when formulating the future. Both formal aspects, and content, touch on this notion. The work continues to formally combine time-based imagery with static images to create a new aesthetic and to expand the notion of painting. All while the images themselves evoke a certain familiarity and nostalgia.
